Charity event to light up West Sacramento

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Greater Sacramento Area Chapter will be hosting the 2019 Light The Night Sacramento event this November in West Sacramento.

Light The Night Sacramento is a fundraising event dedicated to remembering those affected by Leukemia and Lymphoma while raising awareness about the diseases. The donated funds will go towards researching cures and supporting current patients.

Attendees will participate in a walk and later send white lanterns into the sky as a way of celebrating those who have survived. Organizations that raise money for causes such as this can use brochure printing to make pamphlets that help educate people about the disease.

The course for the event will be 1.5 miles long, and water will be provided for participants along the track. This is a non-competitive fundraiser, though there are rewards for teams who raise over $100. People who earn over $100 will be given a wristband, commemorative T-shirt, and food from a station sponsored by the Texas Roadhouse. Meals can also be purchased from an on-site concession stand for those who did not raise enough money.

The 2019 Light The Night Sacramento event will be held on November 2 from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Registration to attend the occasion is free, though guests are welcome to raise funds for the LLS. The event will occur in either rainy or sunny conditions.
