The California Theater of the Arts in San Bernardino will have several plays and classical music performances this winter and spring.
A Night at the Pictures will be performed on February 9 at 7:30 pm. The classical musical performance will be conducted by Ming Luke, and will feature Rossini’s Overture to the Barber of Seville, Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture, and other classical numbers.
Melissa Manchester will perform on March 16 at 7:30 pm. The singer/songwriter performs a Tribute to Fellas and many of her well-known songs. San Bernardino has Print shops that provide poster printing for theaters like this.
On March 8, 9, and 10, the musical Tarzan will be performed. Performances are at 8:00 pm and 2:00 pm and consist of a musical based on the Tarzan of the Apes novel, in which a young infant washed up on the shores of West Africa is raised by gorillas. Music is by Phil Collins and the adaption is written by playwright David Henry Hwang.
Lastly, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be performed on March 30 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Telling the story of Joseph, his father, and eleven brothers, the musical follows the title character after he is sold into slavery.
The theater is located at 562 West Fourth Street, and holds 1,718 seats.
