San Bernardino to ring in 2016

San Bernardino locals looking for an exciting way to dive into the New Year may want to consider attending Insomniac Countdown, a large musical event featuring a host of DJs and producers each with their own unique sound.

The festival will be open to anyone over the age of 18, and has 32 Djs/producers scheduled to perform, along with one Vocalist/MC. DJ and producers offer music created by a variety of equipment that includes turntables, sounding boards, synthesizers and sometimes instruments. Some of the sounds are prerecorded, such as voice or instrument samples. Others are generated on the fly, and others yet are modified to suit the whim of the DJ.

The music is generally a constant stream, meandering through different melodies and even genres. One example is headliner Alison Wonderland, who is currently in the middle of a world tour. Her performances feature hip-hop, trip, bass, and voice samplings. The common theme among the all DJs featured at Insomniac Countdown will be a steady stream of uninterrupted music, allowing those present to keep on dancing as long as they have the legs.

Those planning to attend may want to have flyer printing done for their organization or upcoming event for distribution outside the NOS after the event is over.

The Countdown will be held, quite naturally, on Thursday, December 31 from 4:00 pm until 2:00 am at the NOS Events Center, 689 S. E St., San Bernardino. Tickets cost $125 and will come in the form of wristbands, which will allow attendees to buy other items such as food and merchandise.
