The American Cancer Society will hold a unique fundraiser in November at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Training Academy.
Those interested in combatting cancer while safely interacting with construction machinery can attend the American Cancer Society’s Construction vs. Cancer fundraiser. Pediatric cancer patients will get to sit in and operate equipment such as mini excavators and scissor lifts while at the event. The program will create a fair-like atmosphere for visitors and will feature several activities for kids, including carnival games, face painting, and taking pictures with superheroes.
The American Cancer Society is one of the United States’ largest non-profit groups. The organization researches cancer and provides assistance to those impacted by the condition. The group has offered several helpful services to cancer patients in San Bernardino County, such as giving them free wigs and transportation, and covering lodging fees. The society has even funded more than 110 grants in California.
The Construction vs. Cancer fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 6 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Those interested in attending the experience must register by Friday, November 5. Businesses can help support the American Cancer Society by sponsoring the event. Sponsorship levels range from $1,000 to $30,000 and give companies benefits like having their Logo Design placed on shirts or printed materials. All sponsor packages will include photo opportunities at the event.
