San Bernardino sails into Tall Ship Festival

The Ocean Institute will be presenting its annual Tall Ship Festival in mid-September.

An armada of historic tall ships will be parading into the harbor at sunset. Guests aboard the vessels will get the option to assist the crew hauling up sail or just sit and admire the action. A Sails ‘n' Ales will be available on the shore.

The next two days of the event will include a Mermaid Breakfast where everyone can enjoy a brunch with mermaids, crafts with under-the-sea themes and a story time for the children. The festival will have pirates and mermaid encounters, tall ships tours that will have children manning the helm, talking to and having their pictures taken with real sailors. There will also be Naval Education Shows on the Brig PILGRIM.

History of whaling will be in the Maritime Barn, and interactive ocean exhibits will be inside the Ocean Institute. A Re-enactment Village will feature US naval and military history, and cannon battles will rage until closing. Little ones can join Captain Jack’s School for Scalliwags and meet and greet a mermaid in the Mermaid Lagoon.

Whenever festivals are held, it's usual for organizers to use Promotional Products to give away to attendees.

The event is scheduled for September 8th through the 10th at Dana Point Harbor. Friday’s hours will be 6:00 to 9:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday’s hours will be from 9:00 am until 7:30 pm.
