San Bernardino participates in scenic run

San Bernardino running enthusiasts are gearing up to participate in the 22nd Annual Holcomb Valley Trail Run coming in mid-June.

The Run will have three distances from which to choose – 7 miles, 15 miles, and 33 miles. The course will be a loop route through the San Bernardino National Forest on the Pacific Great Trail and service roads. Runners will get numerous terrific views of Bear Lake along the way.

Runners will receive finisher awards, tech shirts sporting the event’s graphic design, and admittance to the post-race smoothie bar and chili feed.

One aid station for the 7-mile run, three for the 15-mile, and seven for the 33-mile run will be stocked with boiled potatoes, water, and sports drinks.

Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age and gender within each distance, and top three fastest female and male finisher overall in all three races. The Kalina Courage Award will go to the last female/male finisher in the 33 miler.

Proceeds will go to the local volunteer rescue and search organization.

The Holcomb Valley Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 16 at Big Bear Lake’s Meadows Edge Picnic Area. The 33-mile runners will start at 7:30 am, the 15-milers at 7:45 am and the 7-milers at 7:55 am. The event will be limited to the first 400 entries.
