San Bernardino families to get a day in the mud

All local families who enjoy the outdoors and don’t mind getting dirty will want to attend the upcoming Mud Factor KIDZ Family Waves All-Ages Run.

This event will be a precursor the Mud Factor’s 5K obstacle course, but this will be only a 1.5 k to 2.0 k course designed for kids of four years and up and their families.

This shorter course will still have all the elements of the longer run, such as slip ‘n’ slides, tire runs, and mud pits. They take place in the first waves of the day. Although it will not be mandatory, parents and caregivers can now participate with their children as a group. All obstacles will be available and parents must choose which ones will be appropriate for their children.

Children will receive the same bandana and ‘Skully’ tattoo before they participate, and the same achievement medal when they finish, as those people who participate in the adult waves.

Spectators will need $10 passes to enter the Festival Zone. These can be purchased when the family purchases its runner tickets. Each registration will cost $25. Those who register for a later Adult Wave can automatically participate in the Family Wave with their child.

Those interested will want to mark their Calendars for May 1. These family waves will begin at 10:00 am at the Glen Helen Raceway, 18585 Verdemont Ranch Road, San Bernardino.
