The second annual San Bernardino Lunar Festival, AKA, Chinese New Year, is coming to the Court Street Square in the new year.
The event will last several hours and features food vendors, shopping, and cultural performances to celebrate the Year of the Snake.
There will be new attractions this year, including carnival rides. Musical performances ranging from K-pop to traditional folk music will also be part of the offerings. The Lunar New Year traditions of lion dances, acrobatics, and tea ceremonies will also be included.
For adults, there is a beer garden, while the Kids’ Zone provides a space for younger guests to play games and engage in crafts and other activities.
Photobooths, calligraphy workshops, street food vendors, and marketplaces with handcrafted jewelry, among other goods, are also part of the festivities. Local vendors who attend cultural events like these may need Business Cards to give out to customers.
Though the Lunar New Year is sometimes called the Chinese New Year, based on the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, China is not the only country that observes the holiday. Sometimes called the Spring Festival, celebrations can last more than a week and are celebrated in various East Asian countries and within Asian American communities in the U.S.
The second annual San Bernardino Lunar Festival is happening on Saturday, February 1 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Court Street Square. Parking and entry are free.
