For a good spring roll in the mud, San Bernardino will soon be the site of a Mud Factor 5k Obstacle Run.
Billed oxymoronically as “Seriously Fun”, this mud run will have no first and last place, and in fact no keeping score at all. It is simply about taking part and enjoyment.
Each participant will receive a bandana, medal (for those who finish), bib, and the all-important tattoo. Since thousands of people sign up, the run is divided in waves. So far, the scheduled seven waves are will run every 15 minutes beginning at 11:30 am. More waves may be added before and during the big day.
Children ages 4-13 will want to slide around during the KidZ! Waves. These are shorter slogs, clocking in at under two miles, through and over some of the same obstacles as the adult run. Kids will get the same event prizes as the adults. Parents of children ages 4-8 must walk alongside their little ones. Parents of older kids ages 9-13 can walk near their children or must at least stay on the premise during the run. In any event, everyone will want to take pictures to have duplicated at a local printing service for proof of participation.
The run will be held April 26 starting at 10:00 am PDT at Glen Helen Raceway, 18585 Verdemont Ranch Road, San Bernardino.
