San Bernardino Country recently won five awards from the California Association of Counties for programs that make improvements to food safety, help individuals get jobs, and maintain the roads. Five of its programs received the Merit awards this year.
These awards show that the employees of the country are using tax dollars to improve life in San Bernardino. San Bernardino has Print shops that design promotional Pens for government and country agency programs like these.
The program Elevated Risk Plan from the Environmental Health Services Division won for helping improve food handling at facilities with high risk of contamination. It taught sanitation practices and helped these food service facilities achieve long term compliance.
The county’s Workforce Development Department won for a program that helped 14 high school students finish a medical assistant certification program at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The program also prepared 452 students for a work study program for credit.
The Fleet Management department won an award for streamlining the process of obtaining registration, titles, and license plates at the DMV.
The Health and Human Service Department won a Merit Award for its Video Interpretation program. This provides translators in real time using a number of languages to improve access to healthcare services.
Finally, the San Bernardino Department of Public Works won the Merit Award for a preventative program that improves how the roads are maintained and repaired.
