The Cooper Museum Motoring Guild will be presenting its 5th Annual Marines Toys for Tots Classic Car Show and Toy Drive in a couple of weeks.
The event will be on Armed Forces Day and will be honoring the men and women from our area who serve in the armed forces, and will be a fundraiser for the Marine Toys for Tots campaign.
The event will begin with a pancake breakfast at the museum. The fee for this activity will be $5.
Cars can be preregistered for $20 each, plus either a $10 donation to the Marines Toys for Tots or an unwrapped toy.
Some cars that will be featured will be a 1962 Chrysler 300 H, a 1921 Ford T-Bucket and Ed Reinert’s 1976 Datsun 280Z. A 1946 Ford Convertible, and 1948 Mercury Coupe along with a 1979 Ford Thunderbird, a 1957 Chevy BelAir, a 2007 Opel Gt/Saturn Redline, and a 2006 Pontiac Mallett Hammer.
A 1958 VW Custom Military Truck entry has a 50 MM machine gun with a camo cover and other military artifacts. The dual 40 MM Kadron carburetors and 1600 dual port motor gets this vehicle up to 28 mpg.
All San Bernardino car enthusiasts will want to mark their Calendars for May 20. The event will be in Historic Downtown Upland from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.
