Orange supports local child safety charity

Orange county officials, nonprofits, educators, social services, law enforcement, community volunteers, and family and youth advocates are invited to attend the upcoming 32nd Annual Blue Ribbon Month Kickoff Ceremony.

Hosted by the Raise Foundation (Child Abuse Prevention Council Orange County), the ceremony will mark the beginning of Child Abuse Prevention Month. It will focus on prevention, awareness, and honoring those who campaign for the cause.

Part of the program will feature a tribute to those children affected and a moment to reflect and renew support. Then child-welfare leaders and county officials will give an overview of present needs, trends, and prevention priorities. Community partners, nonprofit leaders, and youth advocates will then relate testimonies of prevention, resilience, and community impact. With spring and summer approaching, there will be a brief drowning prevention and water safety talk.

A garden filled with blue pinwheels will be created to show a promise of protection. This will remain in the museum courtyard as a visual installation throughout the month.

It will take place on Thursday, April 2 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Heritage Museum of Orange County, 3101 W Harvard Street, Santa Ana. Guests are to arrive between 11:00 am and 11:30 am with the ceremony beginning at noon and ending at 1:30 pm. Lunch will be included.
