A Running Legacy, Inc. will be hosting a Run Wild 5k here in Orange in mid-May.
Welcoming runners and walkers, this will be a fundraiser for the Orange County Parks Foundation, which aids in the rehabilitation, conservation, and care of native Southwestern wildlife.
The route will take runners on the OC Zoo pathways, past the wildlife exhibits, and along the Irvine Regional Park trails. Registration for the 5k walk/run will be $38.10 until May 3 and $48.70 thereafter. The 1k Kids Run will cost $22.20, or $27.50 after May 3.
The festival will be located right beside the start/finish chute and will open for shirt and bib distribution at 6:20 am on race day. At 6:30 am, the festival grounds open and registration begins. There will be a vendor and exhibitor row.
After the 5k, participants will receive light snacks, water, finisher medals, and photo opportunities. Photos taken at racing events like this often go to local Print shops to be added to family newsletters and yearly Calendars.
The events will take place on Saturday, May 16th at the OC Zoo, 1 Irvine Park Road. Opening ceremonies will start at 7:15 am, with the 5k starting at 7:30 am, then the 1K Kids Walk/Run will begin at 7:40 am. The festivities will come to end around 11:00 am.
