Award-winning singer-songwriter to rock Orange

Orange’s Musco Center for the Arts at Chapman University is hosting a concert by Gaby Moreno this October.

The singer-songwriter from Guatemala weaves together elements of Latin, American, folk, blues and alternative into a recipe of music that has won her two Latin Grammys and the Best Latin Pop Album award at the 2024 Grammys for X MÍ (VOL.1).

Over the years, Moreno has worked with many other legendary performers, including Mavis Staples, Tracy Chapman, Buena Vista Social Club, Chris Thile and Ani DiFranco.

Having completed nine albums since her move to Los Angeles, Moreno has recently taken her career to the next level by making her debut on Broadway in New York City. Earlier this year, she debuted her portrayal of Persephone, one of the leading ladies in the Tony Award-winning musical Hadestown.

Outside of her performances on stage and over radio airwaves, Moreno has also contributed to other staples of pop culture, including co-writing the theme song for the TV series Parks and Recreation and contributing to the music for The Valet, Orange Is the New Black and Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.
