According to a special needs attorney, Georgianna Junco-Kelman, the 20-year-old nonprofit offers families in Southern California comprehensive assistance throughout their lives. Apart from providing referral help and information through its Autism Response Team, Autism Speaks also provides a range of resource guides that cover all aspect of their lives.
Autism Speaks will set up a brand-new 5K in addition to its iconic walk, furthering the organization's goal of making the world a more inclusive place for all individuals with autism.
The organization’s director, Natasha Martin, commented:
"Whether you choose to walk or run, participate as an individual or part of a team, the Empower Walk and 5K Run is really for everyone who wants to make a difference in the autism community."
This year there will be a "superhero sprint," which is a fast-paced competition for people of all ages who will run while wearing capes.
In addition to inclusive activities, attendees may benefit from a resource fair that offers a range of products and services. Promotional Products can be distributed at such events.
The Orange County edition of the walk will take place in Silverado's Oak Canyon Park, a few miles east of Old Towne Orange, on Saturday, November 1.
