Orange teaches water safety

An event plans to highlight the critical importance of teaching water safety early in Orange while helping young swimmers gain confidence.

The class will be conducted at 942 North Tustin Street within the swim school premises and contributes to the national Water Safety Month awareness campaign. Children ages 2.5 to 12 are the target however the rest of the family can busy themselves with instructional content alongside demonstrations and interactive activities. Event sponsors sometimes create a special logo design for specific events.

The program runs for three and a half hours and enables participants to experience four interactive water safety stations. Attendees can expect to learn about dry land safety guidelines from the Jasper Ray Foundation along with life jacket fitting sessions that include beach safety tips and a CPR demonstration coupled with a water safety talk presented by Aqua-Tots staff. Individual safety training sessions in the water will be led by an instructor from Aqua-Tots which allows children to develop essential skills while wearing either swimwear or their clothes minus shoes and denim.

Participants will be assigned time slots upon registration, with available starting times at 4:00 p.m., 4:10 p.m., and 4:20 p.m. They should show up at least ten minutes prior to their designated start time for registration and orientation purposes.
