Unique musicians come to Monrovia area

Leah Zeger and Cory Pesaturo are performing in the Monrovia area this January at the Sierra Madre Playhouse.

Zeger, a vocalist and violinist, and accordion player Pesaturo, combine their talents to create music tapping into the genres of improvisational jazz, classical and world music.

With a background in performing orchestral music for major events, movies and TV, the Houston-born Zeger has collaborated with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Hans Zimmer, CeeLo Green and Annie Lennox, among others. She also releases solo albums as a singer-songwriter.

Pesaturo holds global recognition as an accordion artist, having performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, at the White House and has hosted a TED Talk and other lectures about the instrument. He holds a Guinesss World Record for marathon performance and has three world championship wins in various accordion music categories.

Combining the worlds of both acoustic and electric instruments, the duo creates a unique musical dialogue between the accordion’s reed expressions and the violin’s distinct melodic lines, all while Zeger’s vocals supply everything from scatting to rhythm support.
