What's Happening in Monrovia, CA…

Beginner keyboard lesson on tap in Monrovia

Monrovia Public Library is hosting a Beginner Keyboard Class for adults and teens this November.

The free event will have instruments provided by the library, through participants may bring their own if they wish. In addition, registration is necessary for the event as there is limited space.

Thanks to the support of the Tournament of Roses Foundation, and a partnership with Max Lee Music, participants can expect to learn simple songs, straightforward chords, and other essential pieces of knowledge for an aspiring musician.

Max Lee Music, the organization providing the lesson, is run by two-time Grammy-nominated musician Max Lee. His mother, Tula Lee, also a musician, co-owns the business with her son, with the two of them having 30 years of total experience teaching music locally.

While Max has a background as a musician and performer in the rock genre, Tula’s experience includes being a classical violinist and performer in the genres of world music, folk, and bluegrass.

Music classes like this may choose to use flyer printing to spread the word out in the community at coffee shops, grocery stores, or on bulletin boards.

The Beginner Keyboard Class for Adults and Teens 16+ is being held on Saturday, November 8 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the community room of the Monrovia Public Library at 321 S. Myrtle Ave.
