The Monrovia Music Fest is returning to Library Park this June.
After rocketing to the largest event of its kind in the greater San Gabriel Valley region over several years, the free music and art festival features an all-day roster of local and nationally-recognized musical acts.
Created in 2014, the Monrovia Music Fest was put together by Carole Anne Kaufman, a local businesswoman and winner of musical whistling competitions. Known as The Whistling Diva, Kaufman teamed up with a local marketing expert, Clara Mayer, which kicked off a growth period of the event the following year.
A non-profit organization, Creative Being, with Kaufman as president and featuring a large team, now runs Monrovia Music Fest. Their mission, in part, is to foster a sense of community through music and art.
Artisanal craftspeople, food vendors, hand-crafted beverage vendors, a kids’ zone, markets and live music, complete with an audition process for local bands, are all part of the festivities.
The event, which is nearly a decade old, is made possible through sponsorships such as Raising Cane’s BBQ Blues and The Home Depot.
