A Valentine’s Day Treat event is coming to the Monrovia Public Library this February.
The event, which was made possible thanks to a sponsorship by the Friends of the Monrovia Public Library, will involve making chocolate-covered strawberries and is intended for children ages 9 to 14. Registration online is required for participants.
The dessert-making process includes topping off the chocolate-covered strawberries with a variety of optional confectionery sprinkles. Once the treats have been completed, they can either be eaten or taken home in a small box as a gift for a loved one.
People with allergies are advised that the program cannot guarantee the food has not come in contact with allergens such as nuts or soy. Those who participate in the event also must consent to possibly having their picture taken, as there may be a photographer present. Images may be used in library promotional material.
The Friends of the Monrovia Public Library, which is helping to put on the event, is a donation-fueled non-profit organization whose paying members assist in the creation of reading programs, Books purchased for the library, equipment upgrades, and a memorial gift fund.
Candy-making classes like this may choose to use brochure printing to create recipe pamphlets, instruction Booklets, and supply lists.
The Valentine’s Day Treat event is happening on Friday, February 13 from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the community room of the Monrovia Public Library at 321 S Myrtle Ave.
