The Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library is hosting a Cookbook Club in August, which will include live cooking demonstrations and discussions.
The book of focus for the event is Good Housekeeping’s Instant Pot Cookbook. The event serves as not only an analysis of the book itself, as well as its layout, design and use of photos but also a discussion over the recipes.
A sample dish from the book will be provided by the event moderator. In addition, participants are encouraged to test out recipes from the book at home, prior to the meeting.
The Instant Pot Cookbook contains 60 recipes in total by author Susan Westmoreland. All of the recipes are designed to function with Instant Port, a brand-name kitchen appliance. The device is capable of 6-in-1 cooking styles, including functioning as a rice and yogurt cooker, pressure cooker, slow cooker, sauté pan and keeping cooked food warm, among other functions.
The book contains all the basic information needed on how to operate the Instant Pot, as well as tips for running your own test kitchen. Recipes include ragu, pulled BBQ beef and carnitas tacos, among others.
Cooking events like this may choose to use poster printing for recipe handouts or instructions.
The Cookbook Club event is happening on August 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library at 12700 Montecito in Seal Beach.
