Best-selling franchise celebrates 20th anniversary in Los Alamitos

The 20th anniversary of the Twilight book series is being celebrated this fall at the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library.

The party will celebrate all aspects of the Stephenie Meyer-penned franchise, including the movie series and its soundtrack.

Open to anyone 12 and older, craft activities include bedazzling book covers, adding glitter to portraits of Edward, the sparkling vampire, and creating Twilight-themed stickers.

Supporters of Team Edward or Team Jacob are both invited to participate in this nostalgia-fueled event.

The event comes as the Twilight franchise is being celebrated in a number of other ways nationwide as part of the anniversary, with the first book being published in September of 2005. Movie theaters are screening the Twilight Saga films in October and all of the films also played on YouTube for free earlier in September, on the official Twilight YouTube channel.

The book series inspired five movies starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, beginning with 2008’s Twilight. Twilight: New Moon was released in 2009 as the direct sequel, followed by 2010’s Twilight: Eclipse, 2011’s Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and 2012’s Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
