The Trunk or Treat event, ringing in the spooky season, is returning to Little Cottonwood Park in Los Alamitos this October.
The free event includes a pumpkin patch for children to explore as well as various stations for collecting sweets.
Now in its 15th year, the event is organized by the City of Los Alamitos’ Recreation and Community Services Department and is expected to draw thousands of participants.
Food vendors, carnival games, bounce houses, contests and stage performances are all part of the festivities for this family-friendly Halloween event sponsored by Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital and Southland Credit Union.
Each year, dozens of local businesses, individuals and organizations transform the trunks of their cars to create colorful displays where candy and other freebies are handed out to children. Each trunk is inspired by a specific theme, often from movies and cartoons, like the Minions and Harry Potter.
Meanwhile, hundreds of pumpkins fill the grassy field of Little Cottonwood Park, decked out in hay, offering photo opportunities for families. The park is popular with families year-round, as it offers multiple play structures with slides, swings and a basketball court.
Halloween-themed events like this may choose to use poster printing to create Signs for trick-or-treating and other activities.
Trunk or Treat is happening on October 24 from 5 pm to 7:30 pm at Little Cottonwood Park at 4000 Farquhar Ave in Los Alamitos.
