STEAM showcase takes place next month
The Los Alamitos Education Foundation (LAEF) has recently announced that it will be hosting a STEAM showcase in May.
The STEAM program, which stands for Science Technology Engineering and Math, was brought about by the LAEF four years ago when it decided to provide free STEAM classes, sponsor STEAM showcases for the entire district, and host STEAM fairs at all Los Alamitos schools. The initiative is funded by the donation money that LAEF receives from their King and Queen of Hearts Campaign, which managed to raise approximately $210,000 this year alone.
The showcase will allow students to display their projects in the STEAM categories and will also give students an opportunity to learn more about potential career paths they could pursue based on the presentations offered at the event. For those who are interested in attending the showcase, no registration is required and the event itself is free to attend. Students of all ages will be presenting their projects and professional STEAM members will be drawing attention to their own interactive booths as well.
The STEAM showcase will be taking place on May 19 at the Los Alamitos High School gym from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. For more information regarding the STEAM showcase and program, or to view the logo design for the foundation, visit the OC Breeze website.
