What's Happening in Los Alamitos, CA…

St. Isidore to present workshop of popular food item

The St. Isidore Historical Plaza in Los Alamitos, California will be hosting its own tamale workshop later this month.

The workshop will teach attendees how to make authentic tamales on their own using prepared ingredients provided by the plaza. Along with learning how to make these Mesoamerican specialties, those who sign up for the workshop will be taking home a dozen of them.

The St. Isidore Historical Plaza is a chapel and the oldest public building in Los Alamitos dedicated to promoting local culture and heritage by serving as a meeting place for community services. All funds raised by this workshop will go towards preserving and renovating the building.

The workshop will be taking place on November 18 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The price to register for the event is $65 per person and there are still spots available for those who wish to attend. In order to reserve a spot, call 562-596-9918 or email TamaleWorkshop@yahoo.com. St. Isidore has also added that walk-ins will be welcome for those who forget to reserve a seat for the event, but seating is limited and it is recommended that those who intend on attending the workshop register as soon as possible.
