Save or run free at Race on the Base
The City of Los Alamitos issued a press release on September 21 regarding the 2016 Race on the Base, including details on how to save on the cost of entering or even get to race for free.
The 35th Southland Credit Union Annual Los Alamitos Race on the Base has been scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2016 and long before a banner printing service has been engaged to advertise the race “early bird” pricing is available. Additionally, being associated with the Southland Credit Union provides a way to access a discount as does membership of one of a few select groups.
Held at the Joint Forces Training Base, along runways lined with planes, helicopters and other military vehicles, there is a "hero discount". By using the code HERO2016 and then showing ID identifying the runner as military, fire or police personnel at Packet Pick-up, the participant can save $5 on registration.
Other savings are based on a runner’s association with Southland Credit Union. Current members, new members and those who sign up for a Southland Credit Union Credit Card are entitled to various discounts.
Finally, anyone can take advantage of early bird pricing by registering by September 30, those who beat the deadline will automatically be entered into a drawing for a free entry.
