The 17th annual Elvis Festival is taking place at the end of next month. It is a presentation of the
Garden Grove Downtown Business Association.
The festival is held close to the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death, which was August 22, 1977. The theme of this year’s event is ‘The King Lives On’, and many activities are planned for that day.
One of the main draws for the festival will be the Elvis tribute artists. This year, they include Kirk Wall, Lil’ Joe Banuelos, the Hillbillies Bluegrass Elvis Show, and Krazy Kirk. There will be street performers such as Elvis and Pricilla stilt walkers, trivia contest, and various Elvis food items served on the street or in local restaurants.
The day will also feature a Karaoke festival with the Crème de la King Finale, which will see 12 finalists competing for cash prizes. In addition, the King of Cadillacs Car Show, featuring classic and vintage vehicles, will take place from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. The downtown Farmers’ Market will also be happening on that day.
Visitors from all over, including nearby Los Alamitos, are sure to want to drop by the festival. To help advertise, organizers may distribute Flyers in the community.
The event will be held on Historic Main Street between Garden Grove Blvd and Acacia Parkway on August 28 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Contact Jill Lloyd at 714-267-4657 to learn more.
