Los Alamitos will be holding several entertaining racing events in September as part of the community’s Week of Los Al experience.
Those interested in competitive races can join the upcoming Race Los Al program. Registrants for the 5K run/walk or the 10K Run will receive a race shirt, racing bib, and a finisher medal for completing the course. There will also be a 10K for athletes in wheelchairs and handcycles. The top three finishers of both genders for each event will be given an award. People who win during the event can pick their awards up at the registration tent.
Families looking for a fun athletic activity to join can take part in the Groovin Glide. The event invites guests to roller skate through the streets of Los Alamitos while listening to music on the course. There will even be a contest where attendees can win prizes for wearing costumes that fit the categories of Wacky Neon and Best Imagination. Community gatherings like this can be promoted to others with the help of poster printing.
The Glow in the Dark course will be open on Friday, September 17, while the 5K and 10K races will occur on Saturday, September 18. Tickets for Groovin Glide will cost families $20, while admission for the 5K costs $35. Participants in the 10K must pay $40 to register. Prices will increase as the event dates approach.
