Los Alamitos to organize community movie nights

The City of Los Alamitos Recreation & Community Services will be hosting several movie nights this year at a local baseball parking lot.

The Drive-Up MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach Film and Food Fest Series is an event where people are invited to watch different movies from the comfort of their vehicles. Two films are featured every month, with October’s movies being the Sandlot and Hocus Pocus. Every car that attends the screening will receive a complimentary goodie bag.

To ensure that the viewers are safe during the event, the organizers have created some mandatory guidelines for guests. Those who attend must stay inside their car or van throughout unless visiting the on-site food vendors. Face masks must be worn when people go outside their cars. Every guest will also need to show a paper or electronic receipt upon entering the theater’s location. There will be no predesignated parking spaces for the event.

The cost to attend the drive-up movie series will be $10 per vehicle. The movie dates for October will be tomorrow (16th) and 30th. Other movie dates will be on November 6th and 20th, and December 4th and 18th. Guests can start arriving by 7:00 pm to purchase food from the available vendors, and the movie will begin at 8:00 pm. Businesses that participate in community gatherings like this can use banner printing to make sure attendees notice them.
