The Casa Youth Shelter in Los Alamitos will be hosting a conference in early December to help bring youths together.
The Casa Youth Shelter’s 2021 Youth Leadership Conference is an experience where attendees will make meaningful connections with peers while learning from informative workshops. The discussions during the convention will be presented by Jolissa Hebard and Antonio Lavermon. All workshops will be recorded and can be reviewed after the conference. The event also includes a designated location where students can network.
The Casa Youth Shelter is a non-profit created in 1978 to provide emergency shelter for those aged 12-17 who struggle with homelessness, abuse, or other crises. The organization supports all youth and aims to create an environment where children and teens are treated with respect. Myldred E. Jones founded the group when she was 69. Shelters like this can educate teens about their services by using brochure printing.
The leadership conference will take place this Saturday, December 4 from noon to 4:30 pm. Tickets to the convention are free, though all participating youths must register. A detailed schedule of the conference can be found on the event’s website. Those interested in helping the Casa Youth Shelter continue caring for children in need can donate online, by check, or on the phone. Donations help the organization keep its pantry stocked and facility clean.
