What's Happening in Los Alamitos, CA…

Los Alamitos to host races for all ages

Los Alamitos will organize community races in September as part of the Celebrate Los Als festival.

Race Los Als is a festive event that consists of three different types of races that families can join. The activities include a 5K run/walk, 10K run, and a glow-in-the-dark run. There is also a 10K for athletes in wheelchairs and handcycles. People who register will receive a branded shirt for this year’s racing festival and a finisher medal. Runners participating in the 5K and 10K runs can compete for awards. No awards will be given for the evening glow run.

There will also be a street fair people can attend on the race day. More than 50 community vendors will participate in the festival, and many stalls will offer giveaways to visitors. People can also enjoy family-friendly activities at the fest. Those participating in the race may pick up their bibs at the street fair. Athletes are asked to arrive an hour early to get their bibs, and all participants must have their IDs and sign a waiver form when receiving their bibs.

The races will be on Saturday, September 16. The prices of each race will increase as the event date approaches. Guests can also save money by purchasing family registration bundles. Cities that organize local athletic events like this may use banner printing services to help advertise the races to people from their community.
