PS Science will hold a STEM-themed event for children in March at Los Alamitos Elementary School.
The 2024 Family Science Night is a family-friendly event where attendees can take part in multiple STEM Maker activities. The experience will begin with an introduction from PS Science, and then afterward, guests can choose which activities they wish to complete. Four activities will be available at the program, though families will only get to participate in two. Los Alamitos Elementary School will provide all the materials needed for the activities.
PS Science is a program that was created in 2006 as a response to the state’s deficit in public school education. The organization is a project started by the Crossroads Community Outreach Foundation. Many schools have been served by PS Science, such as Franklin D. Roosevelt Elementary, Sheridan Street Elementary, and Playa Del Rey Elementary. The group creates lesson videos for those who teach in kindergarten and elementary school. People can sponsor a classroom for $1,000 to provide the students with lessons from PS Science.
The family science experience will be held on Tuesday, March 12th from 5:30pm to 7:15pm. Families who participate in the event do not need to pay for the science activities. Registration is also not required for PS Science’s program. Educational groups that hold child-friendly learning events like this may use flyer printing to advertise the activities.
