CrossFit Recoil in Los Alamitos will be participating in a countrywide strength competition in April.
The Festivus Games are a series of challenges where all athletes are invited to take on for fun. The event started in 2011 with 70 challengers, and has grown to have over 17,000 athletes take part in the contest each year. Several CrossFit facilities throughout California will be joining the event, including training centers in Manteca, Loomis, and El Cajon. The divisions for the competition will be split based on gender and experience level.
Those who participate in the Festivus Games will get to face off in several kinds of workouts. The challenges can feature a combination of exercises, such as rowing, lifting kettlebells, and deadlifting barbells. A few of the specific maneuvers in the event include Wall Balls, the Hang Power Snatch, and Line Facing Burpees. Participants are allowed to wear equipment like gloves, belts, and knee sleeves. People may also bring their own rope to the games, though they will not be permitted to bring deadlift straps.
The Festivus Games will be held on April 22 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The cost to register for the athletic contest will range between $80 and $225. Training facilities that host yearly competitions similar to this may use banner printing to draw attention to their competitive events.
