Food Finders, Inc. in Los Alamitos will be holding a month-long event where students can use art to raise awareness for those facing hunger.
The Food Rescue Hero Art Contest is a program that invites all students from kindergarten to the 12th grade to submit original works of art. Each piece should depict a superhero who uses their abilities to fight hunger in the community. Participants are also asked to describe how the hero received their powers, and how they used their abilities to end world hunger. Only one art submission per student is allowed, and all entries should be 8.5” x 11”, or 11” x 17”.
Food Finders, Inc. is a not-for-profit group that works to reduce food waste by picking up and donating excess food to places like senior centers, shelters, and pantries. The organization’s main headquarters can be found in Orange County, California. The non-profit also hosts events such as the Annual Long Beach CanStruction Competition & Exhibition. Charitable organizations in charge of local activities like this can utilize flyer printing to generate more awareness for their causes and events.
The art contest will be held from Thursday, September 1 to Saturday, September 23. Winners are decided on September 25. The top 10 submissions will receive a comic book art kit, and the top three submissions will be given a Marvel encyclopedia book and sketch pad.
