The city of Los Alamitos, California is currently inviting all of its residents to participate in their local 2017 Holiday Decorating Contest.
In order to participate, all interested individuals must do is decorate their home in the spirit of Christmas. Judges from the community will go around each of the neighborhoods throughout Los Alamitos and will choose a 1st and 2nd place winner for each of the neighborhoods.
Those who win the competition in their neighborhood will be given a sign to display in front of their house. Along with their sign, winners will also have their address placed in a list that will tell the public which houses to visit during December.
No registration is required for those who want to participate. To be judged, residents must have all their decorations and lights up and running from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on December 13th. It is also recommended by the city that participants keep their decorations up throughout the duration of the holiday season.
