The Impact Dance Center in Los Alamitos will be holding several tap dancing lessons in May in honor of National Tap Day.
Those interested in learning tap dance can visit the Impact Dance Center to participate in master classes offered by the Rhapsody in Taps touring company. Several instructors will be participating in the program, such as Steve Zee, Ken Bell, and Dante Lara. The workshops offered during the event can be joined by kids and adults. The program will be held in honor of Arthur Duncan, a legendary tap dancer who has won several awards.
Rhapsody in Taps is an organization based in Los Angeles that produces several tap dancing events. The company was co-founded by Linda Sohl-Ellison and Toni Tack in 1981. Sohl-Ellison is also the group’s artistic director and choreographer. Other dancers from the touring organization include Aaron Pardini, Aaron Williams, and Taryn Chavez. The group works with musicians such as Bruce Stone and Joe Rotondi.
National Tap Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 7 from noon to 5:00 pm. The cost to attend a single course during the program will be $28 per person, and the price of taking two classes is $50. People may sign up for three lessons for $70. Prices will increase after April 22. Dance centers holding events like this may use banner printing to promote their workshops to others.
