Los Alamitos band to hold fundraiser

The Los Alamitos Jazz Band will be organizing a fundraiser in May at Wahoo’s in Seal Beach.

The community can show its support for a local band program by attending the Jazz Band Fundraiser Dine Out at Wahoo’s. People interested in helping the organization can bring a copy of the band’s flyer to the restaurant. Wahoo’s will donate 20% of the customer’s order to the jazz performers if they show the group’s flyer. The restaurant will only give donations for purchases made between 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. No Flyers will be distributed at the establishment.

The band is part of the Los Alamitos Instrumental Music program and consists of three groups. Each ensemble performs modern and traditional jazz compositions and teaches the involved students about music theory and improvisation. The band has performed at numerous events, like the Reno Jazz Festival, All-District Festival, and Monterey NGJ Festival. Members of the Jazz I and Jazz II groups must audition to join.

The dine out will take place on Tuesday, May 24th from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. People can visit the group’s website to Print out a copy of the event flyer to bring to the fundraiser. There is no pre-registration needed to eat at Wahoo’s. Bands similar to this may draw more attention to their fundraisers by using Print shops to make Posters.
