Los Alamitos area hosts volunteer event with love

The 2nd Annual Paint the Town with Love event focusing on volunteer activities is coming to the Los Alamitos area this spring.

The city-wide event is being held at Stanton Central Park in Cypress. After the initial kick-off, volunteer will then be released to their various activities, with new projects added throughout the day.

The activities available at Stanton Central Park include butterfly garden planting, the painting of the storage facility, weeding and mulching, staining benches, rock garden painting and playground mulch distribution.

The Stanton Family Resource Center also has opportunities to make no-sew blankets, install canvas art and paint game lines. Finally, Hollenbeck park has game line painting and planter clean up and mulch distribution activities to sign up for.

The event welcomes volunteers of all ages, though there are some age restrictions for certain events. Every person in a group needs to register for a project to participate. Each person should only sign up for one activity. There may be more afternoon activities available later on.

Closer to the event, volunteers will receive emails with more information about the project they’ve signed up for. The projects may be changed at a later date and volunteers will be notified if that happens.

Volunteer events like these may choose to use flyer printing from low-cost promotion.

The 2nd Annual Paint the Town with Love event is happening on May 3 at 9 a.m. at Stanton Central Park in Cypress at 10660 Western Ave.
