Imagination of the next generation explored at April event
The 36th annual OC Fair Imaginology is taking place next month for three days.
This year's theme is ‘Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead’, and it is dedicated to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
It is set to feature a number of competitions in subjects, such as fiber arts, video, crafts, science, and engineering. Competitors range in age from preschool up to high school. The deadline for children to register is March 25.
There will also be an academic chess tournament of champions, hands-on exhibits, and live entertainment. One section will be ‘Down on the Centennial Farm’, where children will have the opportunity to plant and harvest vegetables, ride a mini-tractor, and pet a chick. In addition, there will be live reptiles, vintage fire engines, and weaving and spinning demonstrations by the Guild of Fiber Artists.
Other activities will include make and take crafts of items such as bamboo flutes and origami, and learning how to code or build a video game console.
Students from all over the area, including nearby Los Alamitos, will likely be interested in competing. Flyers may have been created with the help of local printing companies to help spread the word.
Imaginology will be held at the OC Fair and Event Center from April 15 to 17. Admission and participation are both free. Call 714-708-1718 to learn more about this event.
