Mama’s Comfort Food and Cocktails opened on June 29 in Los Alamitos on 11122 Los Alamitos Blvd. This restaurant will be similar to Mama’s on 39 owned by Peter Truxaw and Robert Corrigan, and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The two owners said they were excited about opening a second restaurant in such a large dynamic market. The 5,000 square foot restaurant will take the place of the Mighty Kitchen. It will have seating inside and outside on the patio, with a total capacity of 230.
The new menu has over 100 different items. There is a full service bar with a wine list and 20 custom beers on tap. The restaurant will serve comfort food with a culinary twist.
The restaurant is designed to evoke memories of eating mom’s cooking at home. The owners say they want to provide a dining experience that is missing in Los Alamitos.
Some of the entrees on the menu will be roasted chicken with sausage gravy and chicken and waffles. They will have breakfast specials and customers can customize their pancakes.
Diners can enjoy burgers, fish, soup, salad, sandwiches, prime rib, fried chicken, breakfast anytime, and eight flavors of Thrifty ice cream at the eatery.
