What's Happening in Los Alamitos, CA…

Event gives local businesses a chance to treat the community

The 5th annual Trunk or Treat event is taking place next month, presented by Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services.

This is a free event for the public that will feature treasure hunts, games, costume contests, and ‘trunk or treating’.

Local businesses and organizations can participate in this event for free. They decorate the trunk of a car or van and hand out snack-sized candy and treats to trick or treaters. The deadline to apply is October 13 and the organization must provide treats for at least 1,500 people. A prize will be given out for the ‘Most Tricked out Trunk’.

Vendor spaces are also available; 16 can be rented for general merchandise and 4 for food. Fees for a 10 x 10-foot booth are $50 for businesses and $75 for food vendors.

Sponsorships are available for $500 up to $5,000. Sponsors will be recognized on banners displayed on stage during the costume contest.

Organizers of this event will be distributing door hangers all over Los Alamitos, no doubt provided by a local stationery printer.

Trunk or Treat will be held at Little Cottonwood Park on October 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. To find out more about planned activities, to participate, or to become a sponsor, contact Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services at 562-430-1073.
