East Long Beach to receive two new stores

The Long Beach Exchange, a recently approved retail center in East Long Beach, is planning to open a Nordstrom Rack as well as a 365, a new brand created by the Whole Foods company, in the future.

The opening dates are still unclear, although there is some speculation that the Nordstrom Rack may be opening in 2018. The Nordstrom Rack that is set to open in the Long Beach Exchange is being relocated from its previous location in the Lakewood Center in Lakewood, California.

The 365 store, created by Whole Foods, is also planning to begin construction for another store nearby in Los Alamitos early this year. The 365 brand was launched last year in Silver Lake and is said to have fewer products than the Whole Foods stores, according to the senior director of marketing services for 365, Natanya Anderson. Still, the new brand was generally well received.

The Long Beach Exchange, where the stores will be opening, was approved by the city in October of last year. The plans for the Long Beach Exchange call for 266,000 square feet of buildings spread across 27 acres of land located south of where Lakewood Boulevard and Carson Street intersect. So far, Nordstrom Rack and 365 are the only retailers that have been announced to be opening at the site.
