Professional health care workshop near La Palma

Dental professionals may want to consider attending an upcoming workshop in Cerritos, a short distance from La Palma.

The Hard & Soft Tissue Workshop is a three-day, hands-on class for dental professionals, both specialists and general practitioners, who would like to advance their skills in managing soft and hard tissue around implants and natural teeth.

The course includes discussions on the biology, diagnosis, and planning of treatment for mucogingival defects, and the science supporting these concepts.

Another lecture will cover the principles used in gingival augmentation and root coverage procedures with respect to implants and teeth. The class also discusses how participants can create a decision tree for procedures.

A class on site preparation for both donor and recipient, protection of the donor site, and harvest techniques is planned.

Another session will discuss allograft versus autogenous in implant coverage and root coverage, and various procedures for soft augmentation. Allograft versus Autogenous versus Xeonograft in augmentation procedures for bone will be covered. Finally, there will be a discussion of how to manage complications that can occur after the procedure.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to practice root coverage and free gingival graft procedures, techniques of site preparation and harvesting, suturing techniques, how to close wounds, and more, using pig jaws for practice.

The course will grant 24 CE credits, and is scheduled for October 20, 21, and 22 at Young’s Dental, at 166th Street. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create necessary course materials.
