Although it is high summer, La Palma is already getting set for the holidays.
The city has scheduled its annual holiday kick-off event that will welcome the Christmas season. The event has proven to be a family favorite, bringing together live music, fun activities, and a visit from Santa Claus and the rest of the crew from the North Pole.
An activities area will be set up, and it is here that attendees can enjoy arts and crafts. At previous events, participants have made their own ornaments and cards, as well as writing and placing letters to Santa into an already-crowded mailbox. The activities area is also where people will have a chance to have a photo taken with the Jolly Old Elf himself.
An integral part of the festivities is the performance of seasonal music by local school groups. Although the schedule of performers hasn't been announced for 2020, last year music was provided by children from the La Palma Tiny Tots program, as well as the Jazz Band from Walker Junior High School, children from Los Coyotes and G.B. Miller elementary school, and the Cypress School District Choir.
The event schedule includes arts and crafts, and visit with Santa, from 4.00 pm until 5.30 pm; the tree lighting ceremony will follow at 5.30 pm. The fun takes place December 2 at Central Park Pavilion. Banner printing can provide festive decorations for events like this.
