La Palma is looking for committee members

La Palma is looking for residents who are interested in helping keep their community fun and beautiful.

City officials are inviting residents to apply for existing vacancies on the La Palma Community Activities and Beautification Committee (CAB). There are current three vacancies on the committee, one with a term of one year, and two with terms of four years. The committee meets once a month, on the second Tuesdays in June, July, August, and September.

The members of the committee work with city staffers to help coordinate special events in the city. These include Arbor Day, Concerts in the Park, Memorial Day, and the Holiday Tree Lighting. Each occasion is distinct from the others—Arbor Day celebrations, for instance, usually include planting a tree—and La Palma prides itself on its civic events.

Applicants can pick up Forms in person at City Hall, or online at cityoflapalma.org/committees. The deadline to submit an application is February 28, and applications must be received by that date. Once they have filled in the form, residents can either return it in person to City Hall, or send it to the city clerk’s office at City of La Palma City Clerk’s office, 782 Walker Street, La Palma, California 90623.

When opportunities like this arise, officials could work with a flyer printing company on a mailer for residents to announce the openings.
