La Palma hospital recognized as top notch

The La Palma Intercommunity Hospital in La Palma, a Prime Healthcare facility, has been recognized as being one of the best in the country. The accolade came from Healthgrades, which provides online information about hospitals and physicians.

The hospitals in the Prime Healthcare system received over 270 awards, including 20 for ‘America's Best by Specialty’. The system also won 64 awards for Specialty Excellence, and a further 194 five-star awards. Also, Prime Healthcare won more Patient Safety Excellence honors from Healthgrades than any other system in the country. This is the third consecutive year that the Prime Healthcare system has won the Patient Safety Excellence award.

Healthgrades' CEO, Rob Draughon, congratulated Prime Healthcare on its “impressive” achievement. He said it was clear that the hospital system is committed to providing excellent healthcare in a number of specialties and procedures. Organizations that win awards such as this can design Letterheads that include the honor as part of the design.

Healthgrades evaluates the practices at approximately 4,500 hospitals across the country, looking at 32 of the most usual inpatient conditions and procedures, and then tracking the outcome. Prime Healthcare is recognized for revitalizing and saving hospitals in both rural and urban areas so that patients can continue to receive quality care.

CEO and president of Prime Healthcare, Prem Reddy, said the award demonstrates the system's consistent commitment to providing superior patient care at its facilities nationwide.
