Cypress Community Festival opens July 23

The 36th annual Cypress Community Festival is being held next month. It is presented by the City of Cypress which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

The day will start off at 7:00 AM with a free breakfast from the Kiwanis Club. Taking place at around the same time will be a 5/10K walk or run. There will also be vendors on hand to sell arts and crafts or showcase their businesses.

There are set to be children’s rides, games and a coloring contest. Kids will get to meet Cinderella, Belle and Elsa and have their pictures taken with Snoopy.

Also taking place is the 21st annual antique car show. Anyone can register their qualified vehicle for $25.

The Friends of Cypress Recreation and Parks, Inc. will be hosting a chili cook-off. Registration is being accepted until July 8. Fees for salsa are $20 and $35 for chilli. Participants will be competing for the best in six divisions as well as Taster’s Choice.

This should be a fun celebration for the community and for residents of nearby cities such as La Palma. Organizers may invest in banner printing services to highlight certain areas of the festival.
