Celebrating diversity in La Palma

La Palma is proud of its diversity and is getting ready to celebrate it with a popular event.

The City of La Palma recently announced that the traditional Festival of Nations will be held once again in the area. The event has two distinct portions, a parade and the festival itself. The parade will take place on Walker Street beginning at 10:30am; the festival itself runs from 11:30am until 6:00pm in Central Park.

The parade participants will include local businesses, neighborhoods, and organizations such as schools. At the festival following the parade, attendees will find exhibits, performances, and dancing that highlight the rich diversity of the La Palma community.

There is still time for people to get involved in the event. Organizers are inviting non-profit businesses and organizations to host booths this year and will be happy to provide a booth measuring 10’x10’, along with two chairs and one table, but ask that exhibitors not bring any of their own chairs or tables.

They are also asking anyone who is thinking of taking part in the Hometown Parade to please go ahead and submit an application, and are extending the same invitation to members of the public or groups who would like to provide entertainment. All applications will be reviewed and approved by the city, and those who are not selected will receive a refund.

The Festival of Nations is set for Saturday, April 29. When exciting outdoor events such as this one are planned, organizers can turn to banner printing services to create sturdy, weather-resistant decorations.
