The annual La Palma Days celebration is taking place this month, and the theme of this year's event is "La Palma is Sensational at 60!"
The day will start off at 10:00 AM with a parade that will travel down Walker Street from Houston to La Palma Avenue. The parade is expected to feature over 200 units which will include marching bands, community organizations, floats and special celebrity guests. Prizes will be awarded for parade participants in various categories including bands.
Later on in the day, there will be lots of activities taking place in the downtown area for those from pre-school up to adult; children can pick up coloring sheets in advance. In addition, the La Palma Ambassador will be chosen from several finalists.
Over 30 vendors will be on hand to sell their merchandise and local restaurants and caters will be providing international food samples.
The event celebrates the history and community of La Palma. It's likely that organizers of the parade and later events purchase products from local banner printing services to decorate floats, provide Banners for marching bands and to help decorate the parade route.
