Irvine event brings out everyones inner superhero

This October, an event will be taking over Irvine's Mason Regional Park, and everyone is encouraged to sign up, whether they walk, run, or roll their way along using their mobility device.

The annual Superheroes Triumph 5k will see runners, walkers and rollers take on the course for a morning, following a gentle route. There will be special perks presented to each participant, and while they enjoy the experience, they will be raising funds that will benefit members of the community dealing with a spinal cord injury or other Forms of paralysis.

The three-hour fundraiser will include a race bib and a chip timer, and specially designed finishers’ medals will also be presented. Snacks will be on offer both pre- and post-race, and capes will also be distributed to help transform every attendee into a superhero for the cause.

To add an extra dash of excitement, a costume contest and a challenge for those who have a spinal cord injury but are still ambulatory are both in the works. Stationery printers will always be pleased to design custom certificates of competition, awards, and other items for a special event.

This fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. All proceeds will be donated to the Triumph Foundation, and anyone wishing to register can do so through its website.
